Boston Terrier - Characterful and Boisterous. |
Average Size and Lifespan: Small. 12+ years.
Exercise: Moderate. All dogs have a surprising amount of energy and the boston terrier is no different. At least two half hour walks each day is the minimum to keep these boisterous little dogs out of mischief.
A very playful breed, the boston terrier likes lots of company with both humans and other dogs. They can get over excited though and should be watched to make sure play does not get too rough. |

Grooming: Low. The short wiry boston terrier coat needs little more than brushing a couple times a week. They do shed especialy during the changing of the seasons but no more than any other breed.
Temperment: Alert, active, expressive and often very friendly. These little dogs are wonderfully entertaining and characterful. Boston terriers should be playful and loyal with their masters but slightly aloof towards strangers.
Ease of Training: Reasonable. Tends to vary from individual to individual. Boston terriers are an intelligent breed but they do have a stubborn streak. Started young a boston terrier can be quite obedient but you will always need to make sure they know who is boss as they tend to take over!
Special Training: Boston terriers do very well at agility training so long as they are started on obediece training when they are still quite young. But even an obstinate old dog will love a good chase around the tunnels.
